Merry Christmas, everybody!
Christmas is traditionally one of the most loved days of the year. You get presents (and it’s not your birthday), there’s fun and laughter and it’s a day off from work!
You may not have much time during this week to read or write. Keep a notebook handy, however. You will get lots of ideas in the course of the festivities. Make a quick note of them so you don’t forget.
For a writer, every minute brings inspiration. Here are some ideas :
- Kids don’t like turkey? Do you have another kid-friendly option? Make a note, then pitch it to a parenting mag for next Christmas!
- Guests - easy ways to plan a party.
- Gifts - use your experience to make a list of do’s and don’ts for next year.
- Green Christmas - what did you do with all the leftovers - food, wrapping paper, unwanted gifts?
- Holiday traditions - do you have any?
All of these ideas (and I’m sure you’ll have a lot more) can be developed into articles or fillers for magazines. Have fun!
